A special week for sure

Do you all remember my post from December, about a little boy Ryan Adams?

He had been diagnosed with cancer and, I had met him through Alanna and Jay my old bosses ( Indoor Energy Solutions ) Alanna had been doing and auction for him to raise money, we all know how expensive hospitals and parking and life can be in unexpected circumstances. Alanna well she did amazing. It was perfect. Truly and act of pure kindness.

Well I felt I needed to do something to because I seen picture of this handsome little man, going through the most awful things and not crying, not showing how scared this 6 year old truly was. This boy instantly became a hero of mine, what's crazy is he actually is a super hero and loves super heroes! So Santa actually told me where to pick up an elf on the shelf for Ryan and asked me to get a came made for him with the letter R for Ryan's name on it. (Just like superman) So i did, I face-booked the most creative hat designer I know. Janice Noseworthy, she made Abel, Josh and My minion hats for our christmas family photos, they were great, more then I imagined so yes she was definitely the first person i contacted.  It was the perfect cape we too, we had taken pictures of the elf and measurements and before i knew it she had it done!! Ryan's Elf on the shelf Ralph had an awesome cape to show his support for Ryan and his battle! Josh and I delivered him his new friend Ralph and some other prizes to his hospital room at the IWK. I got to meet him for the first time, and boy was he simply amazing, as sick as he was and he was very sick that night, he was so polite. We didn't stay long but I knew I wanted to know how he was doing and I knew I wanted to do more.

I kept in touch with his mom every now and then and followed him on his facebook page ( Ryan's Super Hero Fight Against Leukemia ) for the next several weeks, until finally a person had posted up a photo I had seen floating around the web before. It was amazing, his mom had then shared it and said ok we need to find and engineer who can make this. It had originally been made for a Children's hospital in brazil. I decided I would e-mail them and see if I could buy it or get in contact with someone who could make me one. They emailed me back a few days later apologizing for the fact that they couldn't sell them, and gave me contact information for the company that manufactured them. I called and e-mailed with no answer and finally decided if it couldn't be bought it was for sure getting made.

3d printing, amazing technology that I had been hearing about, reading about and was just plain amazed by the things they were making from it. This was it this is how I would get it done, now to find a 3d printer that would do it!.....I searched google, easy enough Dalhousie Killam Library had one, I thought awesome, Ill just call them up tell them my who, what, when, where and why and they could explain it all. Well no that is not as easy as it sounded, It took many phone calls to find out which program I , yes I needed to download to put my design in and then send to the printer at their library.

I downloaded it, long story short on that , I failed as I have never gone to school for any of this and that program ( said to be the best for a beginner) was the least easy thing I had ever looked at. I cried. So i then decided ask anyone and everyone I knew who knew people who did things like this. Sadly all no goes. I was feeling horrible, failed, defeated by a program I just couldn't grasp. I finally met Allie Munro, A multimedia specialist, for Bluedrop Performance Learning. They create Online learning and simulations for the Military. I met him at my fiance Josh's Christmas Work ( Josh works for the Coursepark side of Bluedrop) party, after speaking with some people about what I was trying to do, they all directed me to him, He's your man they said, He will understand and definitely be more then willing to help! AWESOME I said where is he?

10 minutes later me and him were sitting at a table over a drink speaking about the 5 W's and when we would start! I was so freaking excited!!!!! Tomorrow he said send me your info, Tomorrow is Sunday, he is going to help me on a sunday! amazing I thought. What is even more amazing I woke up to find a facebook message stating I got all the info we need Renee to get started.! Wow is all I could say. That is how we met, and how we got this done! He rescued me from my failure and helped me to make what I wanted for Ryan happen.

3 months of facebook messaging, calls, and lots of back & forth, March 7th, 2014 It was finally completed! It was beautiful.Better then I could ever have imagined it. Allie had done it! A 3d printer had completed this project! We gave it to Carmen to make sure it was going to fit, well it was she could tell no problem. She thought it was a story the world needed to know, it was a feel-good tale. So she got in contact with CBC NEWS NOVA SCOTIA. Elizabeth Chiu wow, how she is an extremely kind hearted lady, she did the story. It was more then I ever expected, I was not so sure about being on tv at all lol. It didn't seem like that big of a deal, but Ms. Chiu told the Ryan's Story perfectly, she told our story perfectly. So a BIG BIG BIG Thank-you to Elizabeth Chiu of CBC news for making it so important to her.

I am not done figuring out ways to help, as I have found a very emotional place in my heart that sais to do whatever I can but in my own ways. I run a Home Daycare so I am hoping to implement something in that regard. My 2 year old son Abel already has a heart of gold, and I hope to continue showing him that even the smallest thing you do can make a big difference, even if only for a minute.

I am still in contact with Ryan, playing Lego Batman 2 on ps3 and Collecting Kre-o Cityville toys for the codes for our games. he has me addicted to it. Such an expensive endeavor though lol. I hope to be lifelong friends with Ryan and his family, as they truly are a family of super heroes!

Thank you for following I will be posting this in all of my blogs and on my web page as it is extra special to me.

Please follow Ryan and any help for all the other children in need is great too!

I am trying a more balanced meal diet, with some shakes and yogurt in the morning, along with fruit. No junk food though which is the hard part. Keeping up with toddlers isn't easy and I realized in order to do it every day for 10 hrs a day or more i really need to get fit lol.
